I'm glad I found this online because I thought I was going to have to get a hole new water pump ($130). I don't know why they wouldn't put this piece for the first time on the pressure washer instead of using plastic which broke after a year.

I really dont understand how Briggs thought a plastic one of these was better than this metal piece.
Poor thread design for sure. Should be 1/2 star rating!,

This Inlet Kit I think was originally made to fail just like the original one for this particular pressure washer. The thread cut is so fine that it makes it almost impossible for it to last in the housing that it is suppose to secure to. The threads inside the inlet itself were throughly cleaned and checked for burs, crossthreading and any other possible defects. If I had known this before hand I would have just taken the old Inlet Kit and put it back in using J B Weld. That is what I had to do with the new Inlet Kit to get it to stay secured into the housing of the pump inlet. Be sure to let the J B Weld cure for 24 hours to be effective. The price of this item is what I consider a rip off, especially for it not to work as it was originally designed for.
